Sharp your axe

Hope you read our previous article "Satya Nadella"

Today I will share with you story of a Woodcutter.

Once there was a woodcutter. He went to a

timber merchant for a job and got it . The

merchant was offering him good money .

So the woodcutter was willing to give his best

.The merchant gave him an axe and showed him

the field where he was supposed to

work .

The woodcutter started working hard. He came to the

merchant in the evening and braught him 20 trees . The merchant was very happy after seeing his

hard-work. He gave him some more money and also praised him saying ,"You are doing a great job.

I am very happy with your performance ."

The woodcutter  got motivated and thought that he should do more work for his boss.

Next day , when he met the merchant in the evening , he braught just 17 trees (on first day it was 20).

On the third day , he also worked very hard but was able to bring just 14 trees.

He was very disappointed .

At last , he asked the merchant ,"Sir , I am working very hard . But even after this , I am not able to

do , what I supposed to do."

The merchant asked,"When was the last time you sharpen your axe." . The woodcutter

replied,"Sharpen ? I had no time to sharpen my axe.I was so

busy in cutting the trees."

Moral :

We also behave like woodcutter in our lives , always busy in cutting trees . I am not saying that we

should not do hard-work. But we should not get so busy that we start neglecting the important things

in our life, taking time to get close to our creator, our family , improving our skills etc.

We all need time to meditate , relaxe . If we keep on doing work , we will someday lose our

effectiveness.
